Ferrari auction raises funds for Japan relief
Tue, 05 Jul 2011Car lovers came together for a good cause at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo on Monday. More than 200 people participated in a Ferrari charity auction, which raised more than 500,000 euros, or about $723,000 at current exchange rates. Proceeds will benefit the city of Ishinomaki, which was severely hit by the earthquake in Japan in March.

The luxury compact crossover will also be on display at the New York auto show but only during the public days. Jaguar roped in a number of its ‘Ambassadors’ for the event at East Winter Garden in Canary Wharf including its newest recruit, Chelsea manager José Mourinho, who is due to get the first customer F-Type Coupe in the UK next month. Jaguar took the opportunity to use its latest advert ‘Rendezvous’ featuring Sir Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong as a trio of villainous Brits that first aired in the US during the recent Super Bowl, to kick proceedings off and add life to the #GoodToBeBad campaign.
