DEI 050212 Boom Mat - Pack of 20   Item Description Boom Mat is a simple and effective solution eliminating squeaks, rattles, vibrations and unwanted engine and road noise. No surface preparation is required and it is easy to install. Simply trim to desired size and shape, peel backing and apply. Constructed of a rubber-based (viscoelastic) polymer layer with an aluminum foil laminate outer facing, Boom mat's strong adhesive backing is unaffected by extreme hot and cold temperatures, is corrosion resistant and can be applied to metals, painted areas, plastic, fiberglass, automotive coatings and difficult to bond surfaces to name a few. GM to double size of battery lab
Mon, 12 Apr 2010General Motors says it will spend $8 million to double the size of its Global Battery Systems Lab, which the company claims is the largest and most technologically advanced automotive battery lab in the United States. GM says the expansion will speed up the development of hybrid and electric vehicles, such as the upcoming Chevrolet Volt, by improving on-site testing of battery cells and systems. When finished, the lab will be 30,000 square feet bigger than it is now, for a 63,000-square-foot total.
Chrysler says it has Wrangler hard-top shortage covered
Fri, 19 Mar 2010Chrysler Group says it has solved the problem that caused a shortage of hard tops for Jeep Wranglers. Michael Manley, CEO of the Jeep brand, said there will be two production increases of the hard tops--one in early April and the second in late April. “We’ve been working to increase hard-top capacity,” Manley said at a Jeep event Thursday.
Audi TT Offroad shows off at Beijing auto show

The company says it comes with a plug-in hybrid drive system delivering 408 hp total, while getting 123.8 miles per gallon -- impressive, but we're guessing not exactly real world. To get that power, the TT Offroad concept uses the company's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, making 292 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque.
