Magdalena, New Mexico, United States
This is a Delco Remy 10si Alternator Model 1102486 dated March 18, 1975 (Date Code 5C18). It was installed as an option (I think with factory a/c) on GM cars having the 250" engine including the Camaro, Firebird, and many other models.
I cleaned it up and took it to NAPA to verify that it still works properly. They said "all ok". |

The implementation may have been a bit primitive, but Ford was on the cusp something big: applying the concepts of the moving assembly line to the complicated, costly process of automobile production.

AMG recounts its history in new video
Thu, 05 May 2011The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG roadster is just the latest in a long line of pumped-up rides from AMG. The company has been putting wrenches to Mercedes-Benz engines since 1967, when Hans-Werner Aufrecht ("A") went into business with Erhard Melcher ("M") and founded AMG. The "G" is for Grossapach, Germany, the birthplace of Aufrecht.
