Condition:Used Brand:Dellorto

This auction is for a pair of Dellorto Dual DRLA 40 Carburetors. The auction includes the following items:

1. A pair of DRLA 40 Carburetors (2 carburetors)
2. Velocity stacks for each carburetor
3. A pair of manifolds
4. A pair of air filters and filter tops (marked with DELLORTO)
5. Two gasket kits (one per carburetor)
6. Bob Tomlinson's The Dellorto Superperformance Tech Book

I recently removed these from my Porsche 912 to return my car to an original state with the original carburetors. I last ran these carburetors about 19 years ago, when I last ran the car. At that time, the carburetors had no known problem. I stopped driving my car due to some structural issues that needed to be corrected, not for any engine (carburetor) performance issues. The following is additional information for each item:
  • These carburetors were on my car when I purchased it 23 years ago and ran for 4 years. I have no history of the carburetors prior to my ownership of the car. I only performed a modest cleaning of the carburetors prior to listing.
  • The manifolds appear to be without flaw. One stud is not present in one manifold, as the main picture shows.
  • The book has dirt marks from being used but is readable. It has all pages.
  • Both carburetors have an air filter.
  • The chrome filter tops have some pitting and pin-point rust spots.
  • One gasket kit is sealed, the other has been re-sealed. However, both were purchased over 20 years ago and some small pieces could have escaped.
These items are sold As-Is. I cannot accept a return so please be certain of your purchase decision. I am a private seller, not a business. Having said that, if I were not returning my car to an original state, I would be using the carburetors myself.

Thank you for looking.

Jaguar reveals the Cars & the Stars for the 2014 Mille Miglia

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

Jodie Kidd in a Jaguar XK 120 ahead of the 2014 Mille Miglia The real Mille Miglia ended in 1957 after a series of crashes saw it cancelled, but it returned in 1977 as the Mille Miglia Storica, a glorious event run over 1,000 miles of beautiful Italian roads featuring cars that ran in the original Mille Miglia. Jaguar has a big history with the Mille Miglia, and has taken to using the annual event to roll out stars to drive its cars for maximum coverage of Jaguar’s Heritage. 2014 is no different – although the number of entries is lower than in previous years – with ten classic Jaguars, including XKs, C-types and one D-type, taking to the Italian roads in May and piloted by a diverse range of star drivers.

Porsche 911 (991)

Thu, 18 Aug 2011

The release of a new generation of the Porsche 911 is always a major motoring event and the launch of the latest – the 991, which will make its debut in Frankfurt next month – appears to be the most significant since the icon switched to water cooling with the 996 in 1998. While quite obviously an evolution of the 997 and every version prior, the 991 is longer (+56mm), wider (+65mm) and lower (-11mm) than its predecessor, while the wheelbase has been extended in order to increase rear leg room and move the model further into the GT segment. Its front lamp graphics offer a visual link to the 918 concept car and sit above a set of angular DRL/turn signal units and enlarged lower mask intakes.
