PROGRAMMING THESE REMOTE(S)

Place the key into the ignition, and turn forward all the way just before cranking. Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the valet/override button, found under the dash area, (push button, spring loaded) until the installed LED (the blinking light) in your dash area goes on solid, and the siren chirps once. (Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type. In this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction, then turn the key off.) This should reset the alarm, and reset the grounded relay on the starter wire, allowing you to start the engine. At this point, the only thing working would be the keyless entry from the alarm, if it came equipped that way. Just Repeat these steps to place it back to usable armed mode.  You may get 2 chirps, confirming it, and the lights may flash twice as well. That should do it.

PLEASE REFER TO YOUR ORIGINAL OWNER’S GUIDE FOR YOUR AFTERMARKET INSTALLED KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM OR  WE FOUND THIS TOO

Code Learning Mode: Your system will keep in memory codes for up to 3 different remotes. To enter the code learning mode:

Turn your key ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON within 5 seconds (leave ON 3rd time).

You will hear a single chirp, LED will flash once. Within 5 seconds press valet/override switch and hold. You will hear 3 chirps. Release switch. Within 5 seconds, press up to 3 different remote controls' Button # 1 that you desire to operate the system.

NOTE: When the system is in the Code Learning mode, it will drop all remotes that were previously programmed in the system.

These steps must be completed quickly or you will not enter Code Learning Mode, or remotes will not be programmed.

Ford recalls 14,737 pickups and crossovers

Thu, 30 Dec 2010

Ford is recalling almost 15,000 vehicles, including some 2011 F-Series pickups, 2011 Lincoln MKXs and 2011 Ford Edges, to fix an electrical short in a body-control module that could cause a fire. Ford told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that modules built during a six-day period by a supplier could be faulty. So far, no injuries, crashes or fires have been reported.

Coming soon: A bigger, better autoweek.com

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

First, we want to thank all the readers who have helped make autoweek.com what it is today -- we've worked hard to ensure no nugget of cool car news falls through the cracks, and we've been rewarded by a 100 percent increase in visitors over the past two years. That said, we also know there's a lot about our site design that can be improved. Articles don't "pop" the way they should, the home page is far too busy, and our commenting system is…well, let's just say that anything relying on Facebook deserves a healthy dose of skepticism.

Opinion: Discovery Sport and the long-term ramifications of pandering to the crossover convergence

Wed, 03 Sep 2014

Having pored over the first pictures of the new Land Rover Discovery Sport and consumed the accompanying official literature, we’re left wondering why it shares so much of its design treatment with the Range Rover Evoque, while simultaneously removing the last vestiges of utility from the Discovery nameplate. From its virtually indistinguishable grille and lamp graphics, over its tapered roofline to its bespoilered tail, it’s hard to describe it as anything other than a derivative of the Evoque. The difference between a Discovery and a Range Rover it would seem, is a body coloured C-pillar.
