First UK public Hydrogen Filling Station Opens Every car maker – well, every car maker with an eye to the future – is developing hydrogen fuel cell cars. Really, short of portable cold fusion becoming a reality, hydrogen is the only viable future for cars. The Nissan Mixim concept car is a compact vehicle for young drivers who are mostly engaged by their computer and the world via the internet -  and it's a new step toward the Japanese company becoming greener. The design incorporates styling features not often seen in electric vehicles, including gullwing doors in a svelte coupe shape. Its wraparound windscreen, inspired by the visor of a crash helmet, dominates the profile while the swept back windscreen, flowing roofline and sharply truncated rear hints at sporting performance.

Breckland Beira

Norfolk-based Breckland - part of Hong Kong-based multi-national, Riche Holdings - will display a new hand-built, two-seat Beira roadster at the forthcoming London Motorexpo. Based GM's Kappa platform, the Beira features new front and rear body sections made from lightweight composites instead of steel. This not only enabled the creation of a distinctive nose section and pronounced fastback rear, but it also cut down on weight.
