Project Car Hell, Homely but Lovable Edition: Triumph Mayflower or Frazer Vagabond?
Thu, 29 May 2014Welcome back to Project Car Hell, where those little carburetor screws always disappear down the intake and all the parts you need are hoarded by bitter curmudgeons in Alaskan survivalist shacks. The Hell Garage Demons have come to the realization that the ugly cars of the early postwar era just don't get enough restoration love these days, and so they've taken a break from their day jobs (boiler-room managers for a major telemarketing firm) in order to scour the List of Craig for a pair of suitably homely machines from the 1946-1954 period. Ssangyong getting bullish with the Korando SX
Tue, 07 Aug 2012The new Ssangyong Korando SX is to feature in a £1 million TV advertising campaign comparing price and spec with its rivals. It’s almost exactly a year since we reported Ssangyong’s return to the UK market with the Ssangyong Korando, a competitive budget compact SUV they hoped would set them on a path to sales success in the UK. Ssangyong ramped up their Korando offering in June by launching the Korando SX 4×4 at a very reasonable £18,795, although you did have to sacrifice kit – and a lump of power – to achieve the new 4×4 entry price.
Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel: 57mpg on a romp to Munich
Mon, 27 Jun 2011Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel on its way to 57mpg The much denied – but always going to happen – Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel finally arrived officially at the New York Motor Show in April. And actually, Michael-extracting apart, the arrival of the 2.2 Diesel XF is a sure sign that Jaguar has its swagger back. Because if they were still afraid - as they were for a very long time - that a cheaper, smaller-engined XF would undermine the premium status the XF had earned since its arrival, they’d have continued to make excuses for its absence from the XF range.
