1,000 new jobs at Jaguar Land Rover Solihull
Isn’t it nice, when all we hear of the economy is doom and gloom, that Jaguar Land Rover are doing so well they need to take on more staff to cope with demand? That’s exactly what’s happening at the JLR Solihull plant, where JLR are increasing the plant workforce by 25 per cent with the addition of 1,000 production operators and skilled trades people. The Jaguar Land Rover plant at Solihull is currently home to the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Discovery 4 and Defender.

How could we have a new car these days without having to suffer an interminable tease? Jaguar took the drawn-out tease to new heights last year with the new XJ tease and it seems that we can’t have a release any more without getting fed bizarre imagery and ‘spy’ video. But Lamborghini look set to make the tease even more ‘un-informing’ than before.

Newly appointed Opel design boss Dave Lyon has been dismissed by parent company General Motors, less than a week before he was set to take over the position at the company's troubled European subsidiary in Russelsheim, Germany. Lyon, who was set to receive Opel's design operations from current boss Mark Adams on Aug. 1, was reportedly escorted from GM design headquarters in Michigan late last week under mysterious circumstances.
