Chinese Grand Prix (2014): RESULT
Sun, 20 Apr 2014Chinese Grand Prix (2014): RESULT Qualifying for the 2014 China Grand Prix yesterday saw a much more level playing field than we’ve seen so far this year thanks to a rain-soaked track. But that didn’t stop Lewis Hamilton taking an easy pole (although the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel squeezed Nico Rosberg in to fourth place) and, true to current form, Hamilton flew away to win the Chinese Grand Prix and Nico Rosberg, after dropping to sixth place after a poor start, fought back to make this another Mercedes one-two. But it doesn’t suffer from the drawbacks of plug-in electric cars, taking just 3 minutes to refuel.
Google continues autonomous car tests [w/video]
Mon, 02 Apr 2012Google is leading the charge towards the production of a fully autonomous car, releasing a video earlier this week of the car being tested on a programmed route. Steve Mahan, who is 95 per cent blind, successfully tested the car with Google engineers and a member of the local police close at hand should something go awry. Google kitted out a Toyota Prius with its software, taking the shape of a spinning cylinder on the car's roof, which senses traffic or activity close to the car and automatically adapts to its situation.
