Diamond Eye Perferformance Diesel Exhaust System is just the thing you need to add good looks, increase performance and lower EGTs. This exhaust system starts at the turbo discharge. The tubing is mandrel bent which increases performance and keeps the turbo system cooler.
Conventional exhaust systems provided by auto manufacturers are a compromise between cost and volume level. Back pressure in the pipe tends to reduce the power of the engine. Ever since the 1950s, hot rodders have developed exhaust systems that are more efficient than the stock equipment that came with the car. The goal of Diamond Eye is to create a free-flowing pipe to extract exhaust gases that minimize horsepower reductions. Simply put -- Bigger pipes work better! The company uses a robotic welding machine that can weld 80 flanges to a piece of exhaust pipe in one hour, a task that used to take all day. The Aluminized systems exhaust tubing is made of 16-gauge aluminized steel, which is less expensive than the 304 stainless steel used in some high-end exhaust systems. But its pipes are mandrel bent, which means that they maintain their diameter in a bend, instead of collapsing to a smaller diameter, which would restrict exhaust flow. Diamond Eye also sells 409 Stainless Steel systems for those that want fully stainless pipes. Ford Motor Co. is bringing its Auto-Start-Stop system to the United States, the first time it has offered the system in this country in a nonhybrid application. The $295 option will be offered only on 2013 Ford Fusions powered by a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which Ford predicts will be the top-selling Fusion engine.

McLaren MP4-12C problems haven't stopped production
The McLaren MP4-12C is McLaren’s first road car in almost twenty years, and it appears that the new 458 competitor from Woking has a few problems. Reports have been cropping up for some weeks that MP4-12C owners have been plagued (well, plagued is harsh) by a raft of problems including a battery drainage issue (something many cars suffer from early on), headlight condensation and glitchy door operation. McLaren are adamant none of the issues affecting the 12C are safety related and it is therefore continuing to build the cars, so although there will be a delay for some new owners in delivery, the issues should cause no long term back log in deliveries.

Peter Mullin, a car guy with excellent taste and the means to do something about it, has become chairman of the board of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Lucky place, the Petersen. Mullin's vice-chairs, who will help lead the museum into the 21st century, are uber car guys Bruce Meyer and David Sydorick, both longtime supporters of the institution.
