Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson & Richard Hammond BANNED from driving
Sat, 16 Nov 2013Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson & Richard Hammond (pictured) BANNED from driving in France It’s an astonishing claim from a man with a lead right foot, but Jeremy Clarkson claims to have never been nicked for speeding. But that claim is something Jeremy will have to qualify by location in future after the French ‘Rozzers’ nicked both Clarkson and Richard Hammond on a Top Gear drive in France last month. How we all managed to miss this little snippet of news when Jeremy revealed it in his column in The Sun last month, we don’t know.
CAR prangs Ferrari FF
Fri, 25 Mar 2011CAR's Jethro Bovingdon gets in a mess with the Ferrari FF It’s happened to us all on a car review, but not necessarily whilst piloting a £230k Ferrari FF. Ferrari has been hosting a playday in Italy for print media to come and torment the Ferrari FF, to see if its deserves to be a real Ferrari despite its pseudo SUV, Shooting Brake styling. CAR Magazine sent along hack Jethro Bovingdon to fly the CAR flag in Italy, and put together a piece for the magazine and (fortunately for us) a video piece for the website.
Nissan’s new lightweight philosophy revealed
Wed, 28 Oct 2009The leaked official drawings of the new Nissan Micra might have revealed the conventional styling of the company’s new supermini, but they gave little clue to the dramatically lightweight new platform that underpins it. The new Micra will be significantly lighter and more fuel efficient than the outgoing car due to a ruthless pursuit of weight reduction on the new V-platform (V = versatile), which on average has slashed 50kg from the new car's weight, and up to 70kg on some models. Project leader Noritaka Tsuru described the new package as a 'breakthrough car' that required a complete 'change in mentality' in how Nissan makes cars.
