The new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish – Project Am 310 from Villa D’Este – has been caught on video in Italy in production guise. The story of the replacement for the Aston Martin DBS – which we now know is to be the new Aston Martin Vanquish – has been playing out over the last month or so. We reported at the start of May that the DBS name would be dropped and then exclusively revealed that it would debut at Villa D’Este as the Project Am 310 to try and mop up the honours in the Concept Category (it actually lost out to the Alfa 4C).

BMW's long-held reputation for producing only rear- and four-wheel drive vehicles comes to an end with the the new 2-series Active Tourer, its first-ever front-wheel-drive production model. The cornerstone of BMW's Geneva show stand next month, the 2-series Active Tourer marks a significant turning point for the German automaker, adopting a transverse-mounted engine and standard FWD. It arrives here in early 2015.

Abarth 695 Maserati Edition costs £32,000 The Abarth 695 Maserati Edition – a.k.a. Edizione Maserati – will cost £32,000 when it arrives in the UK at the end of 2012. Having churned out a tribute to Ferrari with the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari, Fiat (we should say Abarth, to be technically correct) revealed the Abarth 695 Tributo Maserati at the Geneva Motor Show in March to bring in a few bob more from those happy to pay through the nose for a titivated Fiat 500.
