Insurers urged to show old premiums

CAMPAIGNERS are urging insurers to show last year's premium alongside any renewal quote they give to prompt people to shop around more for a better deal. Research by Which? found that nearly nine out of 10 (85%) people would find it useful to have the amount they paid last year on a renewal letter for any type of premium such as car or home insurance.

2013 Chevy, GMC trucks recalled for roll-away risk

General Motors is recalling 69,000 2013 full-size trucks and vans that could shift out of “park” and roll away. The recall impacts the Cadillac Escalade; the Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado HD and LD, and Suburban and Tahoe; and the GMC Savana, Sierra HD and LD, and Yukon and Yukon XL. The trucks may have been built with a fractured park-lock cable, or a deformed steering-column lock-actuator gear in the lock-module assembly.
