Quirky cars in Geneva
Tue, 11 Mar 2008By Mark Walton Motor Shows 11 March 2008 10:30 Geneva is renowned for throwing up weird and wonderful concepts and prototypes from manufacturers you’ve never heard of, and will probably never see again. While the big manufacturers churn out the same old saloons, hatchbacks and SUVs, the quirky side of Geneva shows us what lateral thinking is all about. Some cars are simply brilliant, some are monstrosities, and this is our guide to both. K.O 7 My favourite car of the whole show.
New MINI 5-door Hatch revealed – but will you fit through the back doors?
Thu, 05 Jun 2014The 5-door MINI hatch arrives We’ve already had the more BMW-like new MINI arrive, and now, for the first time, we get a MINI 5-door hatch to try and extend the appeal of the MINI range to families. The 5-door MINI gets an extra 72mm in the wheelbase and a pair of doors at the back – which do look very tight for full-size people to use – and there’s also an extra 15mm of headroom, a bigger boot and seating for three in the back. In terms of design, there’s little to choose between the 5-door and the 3-door, but the new 5-door does look a bit like the off-spring of the new MINI and the Countryman; just a little dumpy.

Sun, 07 Mar 2010The Cadillac CTS-V Estate Spy - Euro ready? It’s very sad that with a range of cars in its arsenal which could – probably for the first time ever – be taken seriously by European buyers, Cadillac are without a dealer network in the UK and Europe. Yes, they told us they were sorting that out and that ‘Cadillac back in Europe’ was a certainty. But really, it isn’t.
