The Range Rover Evoque with different back end treatments
I know, why on earth do we need ‘Spy’ shots of the Range Rover Evoque when we saw a completely undisguised Evoque – and eventually an equally undisguised Victoria Beckham – at Land Rover’s recent party at KP to celebrate 40 years of Range Rover goodness? Which was exactly our sentiment when we got a Tweet from Land Rover pointing us towards ‘Spy’ photos of the Evoque which purport to be snapped whilst the Evoque was out in London – perhaps on a secret photo shoot? Anyway, that’s what we thought when we saw the four photos at the bottom shoved on to YouTube.
New Polish car company Arrinera has announced that work on the prototype of the new model – also called the Arrinera confusingly – is complete and it will now be embarking on moving the design to production. The company has claimed that the inspiration for the car's design came from that of the stealth-fighter, although there are obvious features reminiscent of Lamborghini, such as the doors, a Reventon-esque front end, Gallardo-like rear intakes, and vents ahead of the rear wheels similar to those on the Murcielago. Arrinera asserts that the cabin will be adorned in only the finest handcrafted leather and carbon fiber and highlighted with aluminum trim.
The second edition of ‘Concept Car of the Week' features what was hailed as "the world's mightiest supercar": the Ford GT90. The GT90 was unveiled at the 1995 Detroit auto show and acted as the poster boy of the 'New Edge' design philosophy, with its large, flat planes, angles and triangular shapes it was a major change in design direction. This car, completed in just six months, was something of a successor to the GT40, using some of its design cues such as doors that cut into the roofline, but underneath many components were borrowed from the other cars such as the Jaguar XJ220.
