The Leipzig Auto Show may not rank in the top tier of world car shows, but that’s not stopping Volkswagen from turning up with a whole heap of new models this weekend. The VW CC R Line is exactly what it says on the badge, a butched-up version of VW’s CC with a set of 17″ alloys, a bit of a body kit, a splash of chrome and a R Line multi function steering wheel inside.
North East worst for road safety
Tue, 12 Nov 2013THE NORTH EAST of England has the worst rates for deaths and serious injuries on England’s roads according to data from the Department for Transport. In 2012, the number of deaths and serious injuries in the North East increased by 8%, with an extra 65 incidents recorded compared to 854 in 2011. The South East of England, which suffered some of the worst statistics in 2011, is now the most improved region.
Caterham sells F1 team
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Caterham The Caterham Formula 1 team has been sold to a consortium of Swiss and Middle-Eastern investors following a poor season so far in 2014. Rumours that Caterham would cut its losses have been rife, since team founder Tony Fernandes threatened to quit if things didn't improve this year. The team is currently bottom in the championship and Fernandes hinted of an exit last week, when he tweeted “F1 hasn't worked, but love Caterham Cars.” Graham Macdonald, Caterham Group CEO: “Firstly I want to thank everyone who was involved in the F1 team for all their hard work and dedication since the team’s first days in 2009.
