Mon, 05 Mar 2012Lamborghini Aventador J Roadster After the leak of the Lamborghini Aventador J over the weekend, tonight we get the official reveal of Lamborghini’s stripped-out Aventador Roadster When we ran leaked photos of the Lamborghini Aventador J Roadster at the weekend we said it threatened to steal a bit of Ferrari’s limelight at the Geneva Motor Show – and it will. The Aventador J Roadster is Aventador to the max, with all fripperies – including the windscreen and roof sacrificed in the pursuit of low weight and extreme performance. Lamborghini say the Aventador J is a four-wheeled sport-bike, and they’re not wrong.
The return of the Real MINI
Tue, 17 Mar 2009The MINI Concept - heralding the revival of the Isetta and Topolino marques [ad#ad-1] Back in January, we speculated on the return of the Topolino and Isetta marques in a joint venture by BMW and Fiat to launch a range of super-eco city cars to rival those that manufacturers like VW and Mercedes are developing. And according to Auto Express those plans are getting close to being realised. This is a bold move by BMW and Fiat to gain ground over their rivals with models that offer extreme economy, but sport a legendary moniker to give the models added kudos.
Volvo S60 Polestar goes in to production
Wed, 17 Apr 2013It sounded like a plan to put it in to production – even if it would probably need twin turbos to make it nicely wieldy on the road – and that’s exactly what Volvo and Polestar have done. The Volvo S60 Polestar has gone in to limited production, initially for the Australian market, but instead of the mighty 508bhp of the concept it has to make do with a more pedestrian 350bhp, little more than the V60 we reviewed last year with the Polestar upgrade. But the extra power is enough to get the production S60 Polestar to 62mph in 4.9 seconds and, thanks to tweaks to the suspension, brakes and aerodynamics, the S60 Polestar looks like it will be able to handle the power quite well.
