Toyota GT 86 Revealed
Sun, 27 Nov 2011Toyota GT 86 - apparently, it's as wide as a London Bus The Toyota GT 86 – which we all know as the Toyota FT-86 – has been revealed by Toyota UK ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show this week. It’s the Toyota GT 86, not the FT-86. But this is Toyota’s ‘affordable’ sports coupe that seems to have been coming since the new millennium arrived.
McLaren P13 set to arrive in 2014
Sun, 24 Mar 2013The next new car from McLaren – codenamed P13 and set to take on the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 – now looks set to arrive in 2014. McLaren’s plans for a new range of road cars have been in play for a number of years, and we initially expected the 12C to arrive first to take on the Ferrari 458, which it did, followed by a cheaper McLaren set to take on cars like the Porsche 911 and Audi R8. We got the McLaren MP4-12C (which McLaren now like us to call the 12C) followed by the 12C Spider – just as we first thought - but it seems McLaren was under pressure from its new dealer network to get the replacement for the legendary F1 out next, so McLaren switched tack and delivered the new McLaren P1.
One Lap of the Web: preservation-class edition
Wed, 06 Nov 2013-- This video about a preserved Volkswagen dealership in Brazil is in Portuguese, and even if you don't know Portuguese, it will still make sense to you if you're a car person. (Or, you can activate the English subtitles on YouTube, as it's an interesting story.) -- What's the best truck for scaling vertical surfaces? That's right, it's the Unimog, and this week there's a 1965 example (that would be the oval-faced version) on the eBays with a rather realistic Buy it Now price.
