Aston Martin to recall nearly 17,000 cars

Aston Martin has announced it is to recall 16,825 cars globally to rectify an issue that has emerged with the throttle pedal of its cars. Models built between November 2007 and October 2013 will be recalled, the firm says, because they “may exhibit a defect in the throttle pedal”. Saab signs deal with second China partner

Saab has agreed to China's Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Co. taking an equity stake in the company as part of a distribution and manufacturing joint venture. Saab and its owner Spyker Cars NV signed a deal with Chinese car distributor Pang Da in May worth up to 110 million euros that involved setting up a joint venture with Spyker and a partner in China to start making Saabs in China within two years.

Lotus will release a stripped-down version of the Elise, called the 1.6 Lotus Elise Club Racer. However, it will be available only in the United Kingdom.
