Tesla guarantee future value of Model S (pictured) in finance deal If you run a company car – and you’re comfortably off – there’s a lot to commend the Tesla Model S. But if you’re a comfortably off private buyer who doesn’t quite get the tax breaks on a car a company car driver does, Tesla still want to make you an offer you can’t refuse. Teaming up with Alphera Financial Services (which just happens to be owned by BMW), Tesla are offering an appealing deal on the Model S, and guaranteeing its future value too.

We sample Honda's car technology of the future

Ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show 2013 we’ve been to Honda’s research and development facility in Tochigi to see and experience some of the Japanese firm’s new and upcoming products and technology. We’ve covered the new Honda Civic Type R in some detail separately, but among the other cars driven here is the next generation Honda Jazz (known as the Fit in Japan), no less than three different types of Honda hybrid system, including one similar to that fitted in the forthcoming NSX supercar, and an all-carbonfibre CR-Z prototype. On top of which, we’ve also experienced a self-driving car, watched a crazy automatic-parking demonstration and sampled the latest version of the all-electric Micro-Commuter, Honda’s equivalent of the Renault Twizy.

UK & Germany announce investments in Hydrogen Filling Stations

Daimler & Linde are investing in Hydrogen refuelling stations in nGermany The first real world hydrogen powered cars are just starting to hit roads in Europe, and probably the biggest obstacle to their success is a comprehensive refuelling network. But attempts to start to address that problem have now been announced in the UK and Germany. In the UK, the government is investing £11 million – part-funded by industry – to create new hydrogen filling stations in the UK in the next year.
