New 2102 Aston Martin V8 Vantage on video
Sat, 24 Mar 20122102 Aston Martin V8 Vantage on video in Paris Having debuted the 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage changes for 2012 in February, Aston Martin has now captured the new V8 Vantage on video in Paris. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage promised so much when it first arrived that we couldn’t help being just a little bit disappointed in the new, smaller Aston designed to beat the 911 at its own game. It looked glorious – a given with any Aston Martin – and it sounded wonderful, especially when you gave it its head, but it just didn’t go as well as expected.
Audi shows S3 Sportback (2013) – but is a used S3 a better buy?
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Here’s Audi’s S3 Sportback, the five-door version of the 296bhp Quattro hot hatch unveiled last year. The S3 Sportback takes 5sec flat to accelerate from 0 to 62mph, that’s one-tenth of a second quicker than Audi’s official figure for its three-door stablemate. That’s because the initial 5.1sec S3 time was only an estimate, and Audi’s subsequent tests have shown the three-door S3 actually dipping below five seconds in the 0-62mph sprint.
Runaway ostrich causes traffic chaos
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Rush hour in the town of Tunbridge Wells took a humorous turn yesterday when a runaway ostrich shot past cars at speeds of over 40mph, with a clear disregard for road conditions, traffic and speed limits. Alarmingly, the rogue bird is still on the run from police and there are fears it could cause carnage in the town centre, as the RSCPA warns fully-grown ostriches max out at around 60mph. On Bing: see pictures of runaway ostriches Cars named after animals If the ostrich were to collide with an individual, its lack of crumple zones means the pedestrian could be badly injured and, as far we’re aware, ostriches are yet to be put through strict Euro NCAP crash tests.
