Jaguar Land Rover lands Nokia's Damien Dinning

Jaguar Land Rover has acquired the services of Nokia's chief imaging head Damien Dinning, who it hopes will advance its connected car systems. Dinning, who has been with the Finnish technology giant since 2004, took the decision to leave because of his reluctance to relocate his family from the UK to Finland. UK 2012 car sales analysis: winners and losers

New UK car registrations in 2012 rose to a four-year high, figures released today confirm. Sales jumped 5.3% in the Olympic year compared with 2011 – to 2,044,609 new cars, the largest percentage increase since 2001. Retail sales drove the demand in 2012, growing 12.9% on the previous year.

2010 Acura ZDX recalled

Acura said on Tuesday that it is recalling 1,850 versions of its freshly launched 2010 ZDX crossover for a potential airbag problem. The recall stems from a dashboard material that was cut wrong, which would cause the passenger-side airbag to deploy improperly. About two percent of the vehicles recalled are likely affected, spokesman Gary Robinson said.
