Or maybe McLaren feels the needs to differentiate the strategies so the driver will be less of a focus than the strategy. The high-performance i8 will be the second BMW i car to go on sale, following the launch of the i3 electric city car which goes on sale in BMW dealers this weekend. BMW i8 stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show BMW i8 review (2013 prototype) The near-£100,000 price tag for the 362hp car means it costs nearly £6,000 more than the 560hp BMW M6 Coupe – although as it is a 2+2, comparisons can also be drawn with the BMW M6 Gran Coupe: the i8 costs just over £2,000 more.

Wed, 25 Nov 2009Work is well underway on Britain’s latest land speed record attempt – the new Bloodhound SuperSonic Car (SSC) which aims to reach 1000mph plus. CAR reported on the preparation of the project in October 2008; one year later a mock-up is ready and the car is due to be built in Bristol’s docklands. The Bloodhound SSC houses one EJ200 Raf Euofighter Typhoon engine sitting above a hybrid rocket.
