Sat, 05 Mar 2011The Range Rover Evoque in Geneva came in a fetching shade of green We’ve had the roll out of the Range Rover Evoque piecemeal over the last nine months, from the first showing of an Evoque with a name at Kensingon Palace last July, through to the reveal of the 5-Door Evoque – accidentally at Paris and then officially at Los Angeles. What we now learn at Geneva is that Land Rover intends for the Evoque to be the most customisable Range Rover there has ever been, with an almost endless permutation of options and colours and fabrics and styles and… The starting point for customising the Evoque – beyond choosing either diesel or petrol, 2WD or 4WD and 3 or 5 door – is the basic trim options of Pure, Prestige and Dynamic. Then you’ll get confronted with the options for the exterior paint job; there are twelve of those with three different, contrasting roof colours.
BMW Alpina B7 gets power boost for 2013
Fri, 15 Jun 2012The 2013 BMW Alpina B7, the performance version of the German automaker's 7-series sedan, gets an additional 40 hp--and a more costly sticker price--for the new model year. BMW plans to roll out the 2013 model at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August and begin sales soon thereafter. Under the hood, power from the 4.4-liter V8 has been increased from 500 to 540 hp with the addition of BMW's throttle-less Valvetronic intake system.
London to increase pedestrian crossing countdowns
Tue, 15 Jul 2014MORE PEDESTRIAN crossings will get "how-long-have-I-got?" countdown signs as part of a new safety action plan for London's roads. The pedestrian countdowns will be extended to include around 10% of the capital's crossings, Transport for London (TfL) said. The plan also includes trials of innovative collision detection software on London buses this summer.
