Concept Car of the Week: Renault Altica (2006)

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Back in 2006 Renault was still well into its design-leadership stride, if perhaps not for much longer. The Altica concept, shown at that year's Geneva motor show, showcased all the French brand had to offer at that time – a brilliantly brave, architectural interior, a style that could only be associated with its country of origin and an interior that thoroughly questioned and readdressed layout, control and format. It also served to preview the renaissance of the Shooting Brake that the industry is still experiencing.

Audi e-tron Spyder concept

Mon, 18 Oct 2010

Audi revealed the latest iteration of its e-tron product range in the form of the Spyder concept at the 2010 Paris motor show. The roadster showcases the brand's plug-in hybrid technology cloaked in an emotional two seat package. Measuring 4060mm long, 1810mm wide and 1110mm high, the Spyder is only slightly larger than the electric e-tron concept shown in Detroit earlier this year.

All-new Ford F-150 revealed at 2014 Detroit Motor Show

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Ford has revealed an all-new version of the States' bestselling vehicle, the F-150 pick-up – and in a world first, the US favourite boasts an all-aluminium body and lightweight, high-strength steel frame. The new Ford F-150 is more than 300kg lighter than the model it replaces and, thanks to four engine choices including an all-new downsized 2.7-litre EcoBoost turbo, is much more fuel efficient too. Given that Ford sold a staggering 763,402 F-150s in 2013 alone, these changes will have a very positive effect in terms of the new model's environmental impact.
