And we knew – because they ‘hinted’ at it when we spoke to them last week – that the whole Top Gear segment had more than a little to do with the Paramount Group in South Africa, purveyors of innovative armoured vehicles. So, as suspected, we were treated to Richard conquering the Urban Jungle of Johannesburg in the Paramount Marauder, an aptly-named, go anywhere, seemingly indestructible piece of military hardware made street-legal.
2013 Porsche Carrera 4 set for reveal Paris motor show reveal
Mon, 27 Aug 2012Porsche has lifted the veil on the fifth-generation 911 Carrera 4 all-wheel-drive sports car ahead of a September premiere at the Paris motor show. It is expected to reach North American showrooms in February as a 2013 model. The 911 Carrera 4 has a widened body with rear side panels extending 0.9 inches beyond the standard rear-wheel-drive 911, which allows for wider rear wheels and tires.
BMW, Toyota to jointly develop a sports car
Fri, 29 Jun 2012BMW and Toyota Motor Corp. on Friday said they will develop a sports car together and cooperate in fuel cell technology, powertrain electrification and lightweight technologies. BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer and Toyota President Akio Toyoda signed an initial agreement at BMW's Munich headquarters to expand long-term strategic collaboration between the two automakers.
