Land Rover triggers rumours of ‘Landy’ SUV

Jaguar Land Rover has trademarked the name ‘Landy’, sparking more rumours of a smaller urban SUV based on the Evoque. The new model could possibly feature styling similar to the DC100 concept, and will be a rival to the likes of the BMW X1 and upcoming Audi Q1. Volvo Flywheel KERS Hybrid cuts fuel consumption by 25%

Two years ago we reported that Volvo were testing a clever hybrid Flywheel KERS system for road cars and hoped it would prove to be a good way to make road cars more economical. And it seems it does. The Hybrid Flywheel KERS system Volvo has developed weighs only 6kg, has a diameter of just 20cm, is made of carbon fibre, sits in a vacuum and is located on the back axle and works by recovering energy under braking which is then stored for use when the car moves off.

Tata Nano: the CEO’s plans to sell it in Europe

Carl-Peter Forster, CEO of Tata Motors, has told CAR of his hopes for Tata’s expansion in Europe – with plans to launch the Nano here with a diesel and possibly an electric version.
