Even some professional tire shops these days don't have equipment that will work on Model A wheels without damaging them. So, the Model A owner is left to his own devices to replace a worn tire or fix a leaking or defective innertube. The trouble is, some folks don't know how to take a tire off a wheel or put it back on. They have never had to do such a thing before. Well, here's the solution. A clear demonstration of an easy and safe method for unmounting and remounting a tire without damaging the hub cap, and some helpful tips for installing an innertube that may just save you from a flat tire down the road. Watch and learn from this demonstration of removing a tire from the wheel using tape-wrapped tire irons. Installing a new innertube and remounting the tire to meet judging standards comes next. Also see a demonstration of how to replace an innertube while the tire remains on the car along the side of the road. The sale is believed to be a record for an American car at auction. Bob Bondurant drove it to victory in the 12 Heures du Reims--fittingly on the Fourth of July in 1965 to secure the FIA title.
