I bought these rod bearings from VAC before I sold my car years ago. VAC no longer stocks these bearings for the S38B38 and you can't buy S38 B38 rod bearings from the dealer in the United States anymore. Recently found them digging through my parts collection. Here's the description from VAC:

Our VAC Rod Bearing Sets are specially coated to reduce friction to a minimum; enabling lower temps and faster revolutions in your expensive S38 engine.
The coated bearings are thermal breakdown resistant, helping to prevent premature engine failures under stress when things are most critical. These bearings can last much longer than any normal bearing set as proven by our customers excellent results. Our VAC bearings are used in all our highest performance BMW engine builds.
These bearings have become a favorite product of all our race and engine building customers around the globe who have reported unparalleled wear characteristics under all conditions.
Made for us by the same company who manufactures for the US military, NASCAR & ALMS teams, and other customers that require "mission critical" quality.

Used by by both the 1st and 2nd fastest BMW drag cars in the USA, as well as our Racing & Endurance customers around the world. Proven by customers to help you finish the race even with loss of oil pressure! If you are looking for high performance rod bearings, this is the set for your S38.
  • VAC Tech Notes:

Sun, 04 Nov 2012

A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta ‘Tour de France’ sold for £1.96 million as the star of R.M. Auction’s 2012 London sale. Star sale of the night in Battersea was a hugely desirable 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta ‘Tour de France’ by Carrozzeria Scaglietti which managed to reach £1.96 million (although a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Alloy Gullwing failed to sell at £2.4 million), but there were plenty of other lots reaching decent prices too.

Chevrolet touts Corvette 427 convertible with race driver Tommy Milner

Wed, 15 Feb 2012

The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 convertible doesn't need any hype--the 505-hp V8, a 0-to-60-mph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed in excess of 190 mph make a strong statement. Nonetheless, Chevrolet has enlisted the help of Corvette Racing driver Tommy Milner in a trio of 90-second videos to tout the 427 convertible. In our favorite, Milner talks about the car's aerodynamics, including the optional carbon-fiber splitter, that help keep the car glued to the ground for better control.

Bahrain F1 win for Button & Brawn GP

Sun, 26 Apr 2009

Button wins for Brawn GP in Bahrain - the third win of the F1 season for Button/Brawn GP [ad#ad-1] It looked after practice and qualifying that Brawn’s measure had been acquired; at least by Toyota and  Red Bull. After all, the best Brawn could manage was fourth on the grid with Button, and a front row lock-out by Toyota, and Vettel’s third on the grid, seemed to strike a note of reality for this years F1 season. Those who condemned Brawn’s early success this year called it luck.
