Algae-powered street lights eat CO2
Fri, 04 May 2012Algae powered street lighting (great Photoshop) A French biochemist – Pierre Calleja – has developed a street lighting system using micro algae that absorbs CO2. The need to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere is contentious - to say the least – but as long as governments use CO2 as a stick to beat motorists and empty their bank accounts it’s sensible to look at ways of ‘balancing’ the CO2 emissions of cars. French biochemist Pierre Calleja thinks he’s come up with a solution that would neutralise CO2 emissions from cars by cancelling it out with his micro-algae lighting.
Watch new Mercedes C-class, GLA45 AMG and S600: VIDEO
Mon, 13 Jan 2014We got our first look at the new 2015 Mercedes C-class sedan last month in a series of photographs released by the German automaker. The new car does a great impression of a baby S-class with a strong front end, plenty of side-sculpting and a gentle slope to the rear, exemplified in the video above. We also get a peek at the new GLA45 AMG sport compact crossover and the S600 giant killer, all in motion.
2015 Suzuki Vitara revealed – the Vitara returns!
Wed, 27 Aug 2014The new Suzuki Vitara – debuts at the Paris Motor Show When the Suzuki iV-4 Concept was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, in the spring, we knew it previewed a new model from Suzuki rather than a replacement for a model in its current range. But what we didn’t know is that Suzuki would revive a familiar badge for the production version of the iV-4 Concept, but they have with the arrival of the new 2015 Suzuki Vitara. The new Vitara isn’t too far off the iV-4 Concept in looks – just a bit more ‘production and a bit less ‘Concept’ – and will come with front-wheel-drive as standard, but you will be able to spec a new Vitara up with Suzuki’s ALLGRIP 4WD and a selection of engines offering ‘outstanding’ fuel economy.
