Auctioned Chevy Trax provides Man Utd charity boost
Mon, 11 Nov 2013A CHEVROLET Trax that had been autographed by the 2012/13 Premier League-winning Manchester United team has helped raise more than £17,500 for charity. The car, bearing signatures from players including Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand, sold via an eBay auction for £14,301 as part of a wider auction of Manchester United memorabilia donated by Chevrolet. The money will go to the Manchester United Foundation to support its Ability Counts football programme, which offers disabled people the opportunity to play or coach with Manchester United and has more than 150 players aged from eight to 40 years old.

Almost 34,000 people have now signed a petition on the Number 10 website urging the Government to ‘not reduce the national speed limit to 50mph.’ It’s become the second most popular petition on the site – ahead of similar bids to stop the Government raising university tuition fees and beaten only by one calling for Gordon Brown to resign as prime minister.Cutting the UK’s national speed limits from 60mph to 50mph: the backgroundBack in March 2009, plans were announced that the Government wanted to cut the national speed limit from 60mph to 50mph on single carriageways in rural areas. Tesco Cars was one of the latest Tesco sideways moves to use its vast revenues to dominate more and more business sectors in the UK. But it’s come to an ignominious end just twelve months after it was launched, piggy-backing on the existing Carsite business to try and flog used cars to customers who would rather deal with a big supermarket than a back street car lot.
