End of Maybach may jump-start Mercedes S-class convertible

A couple of nondenial denials from Mercedes-Benz execs at the New York auto show this week sure made it sound like there's a convertible coming, based on the redesigned S-class due out next year. If the brand follows its usual practice, the convertible would come out a year or two after the sedan. Significantly, Mercedes-Benz showed the Ocean Drive convertible concept five years ago with a Mercedes-Benz badge, rather than Maybach.

Porsche Le Mans challenger (2014) in testing

Porsche's 2014 Le Mans challenger has completed its first test today at the maker’s Weissach test track in Germany. Porsche will take on stablemate Audi and rivals Toyota in the 2014 World Endurance Championship, which sees a significant change in the regulations that may well shake up Audi’s domination of the series and its stranglehold on the Le Mans 24hrs. Dave McLellan to be a featured guest at the Corvette Funfest

Dave McLellan, who presided as chief engineer for the fourth-generation Chevrolet Corvette, will be a featured guest at parts-seller Mid America Motorworks' annual Corvette Funfest in September. The Funfest brings together 14,000 Corvettes and 45,000 Corvette enthusiasts over a three-day weekend at Mid America's campus in Effingham, Ill. The event includes seminars, entertainment and--of course--plenty of Corvettes.
