BMW M235i leaks out ahead of 2 Series debut BMW started the tease for the new 2-Series over the weekend with a ver brief video, and are planning on debuting their replacement for the 1 Series Coupe at the end of the week. But car makers best laid plans usually go awry now the world has smartphone cameras and the Interwebs are beckoning, so it’s no big surprise we have the first photo of a new 2-Series – in this case the M235i – ahead of its official reveal. Snapped at a dealer presentation by a member of 2addicts forum, the new 2 Series looks pretty much like the 1-Series from the front with a coupe roof sloping down to a new back end.

The head-turning blue and polished aluminum classic was the headliner at a sale that raked in $12.2 million and attracted more than 10,000 people to the three-day event. There’s no doubt the folk at Rinspeed like to think outside the box when it comes to concept cars – and the new BamBoo will evoke plenty of admiration when it makes its debut at the Geneva motor show in March 2011. Not for Swiss car visionary Frank Rinderknecht it isn't. He says every name has a meaning and in this case it's because many of the interior features are made from actual bamboo fibres.
