Saab finds a buyer
Wed, 13 Jun 2012Bankrupt automaker Saab has found a buyer. But instead of picking up where the Swedish firm left off, the buyer plans to use Saab's resources for the production of electric cars. The new owners of Saab, a Chinese-Swedish investment group with Japanese backing called National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB (NEVS), did not release details on how much it paid for Saab or how much it planned to invest in the company.
Formula One: Whitmarsh says McLaren won't give up on 2011
Fri, 21 Oct 2011McLaren-Mercedes team boss Martin Whitmarsh says his team wants to win the remaining races of this season while also taking the opportunity to test development parts for its 2012 car. Whitmarsh says that the conclusion of both the drivers' and constructors' title battles--with Red Bull Racing claiming both crowns--has made no difference to McLaren's approach. “There's not been a great distinction,” Whitmarsh said on Friday ahead of next weekend's inaugural Indian Grand Prix.
Dacia Logan Estate: Price from £6,995
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The Dacia Logan MCV (Estate) becomes the UK’s cheapest estate car with prices from £6,995 – for the Logan MCV 1.2 Access trim – rising to £10,795. That’s £1,000 less than we’d expected when the Logan estate was revealed at Geneva last month, and cheap enough to make it the cheapest estate car on sale in the UK. True, the entry-level Logan estate in Access trim with the 1.2 litre 74bhp petrol engine, 15″ steel wheels and not a lot of toys, isn’t exactly specced up, but if you need a proper estate car – and you want it new – the Logan MCV (the MCV bit means ‘Maximum Capacity Vehicle) is a great deal.
