Eck1 1970-81 Firebird Ta Adapter Straps - Install 69 Or Earlier Pontiac Engine on 2040-parts.com
Hatfield, Pennsylvania, United States
US MADE precision lazier cut
This pair of adapter brackets will allow early Pontiac engines/blocks to fit the 70-81 Firebirds, the 73 and newer Full size Pontiacs A body and Grand Prix. You need to get the rubber engine mounts for the car you have - not the engine. on 75 and newer TA and Firebirds, you need the Pontiac 301 350 or 400 (NOT 403) metal brackets and pontiac clam shell frame mounts. You can not use the other GM engine brackets or clam shells. You can not use the A body GP or fullsize engine brackets and clam shells. You simply bolt the brackets to the block, then the 3 bolt mounts (or steel brackets for newer years) will attach using 7/16 bolts and nuts. See my other auction for brackets with hardware You can use factory engine/ motor mount bolts, but will require 4 more plus nuts. I will post more pics soon. This can very confusing. Having the correct engine mounts and frame brackets are required. Do your homework! you do not use the upper bolt for the OE 3 bolt mounts and brackets. This causes no issues These brackets are thin enough to not effect the mounts from not fitting like others on the market, yet are strong enough for any application. These were previously available from Performance Years and Spotts Performance Over 200 sets sold and in use. Can support any horspower. I have several 9 second Pontiac race cars using these adapters. Can also be used to make engine cradles or to adapt late blocks to other cradles. |

2012 Mercedes E63 AMG gets Twin-Turbo 5.5-Litre V8: New York 2011 Catch-up
Mon, 25 Apr 20112012 Mercedes E63 AMG with twin-turbo V8 It’s always the same; however hard we try there’s always something of proper interest that slips through the net when there’s a motor show on, and this time there’s likely to be more as New York and Shanghai are in full swing at the same time. Excuses out of the way, we thought we ought to take a look at the 2012 Mercedes E63 AMG, which has had a heart transplant to get Mercedes’ latest 5.5 litre twin-turbo V8. Out goes the naturally aspirated 6.2 litre V8 and in comes the forced-induction jobbie, promising more torque and much better economy.
New fuel marker to prevent fraud
Fri, 21 Feb 2014A NEW RED DYE fuel marker is being introduced by the British and Irish governments to tackle fraud. The illegal use of cheaper fuel in the UK means criminals avoid paying tax and can sell it on at a lower rate than normal fuel from a petrol station. The new marker will make it harder for criminals to disguise fuel by removing the red dye.
Striking new Kia concept for Frankfurt
Mon, 19 Aug 2013It wouldn’t be a motor show without a wild and outlandish concept car from Kia and it looks like the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September will be no different. Kia has announced details of the as yet unnamed concept that “hints at a possible future B-segment contender ready to take on the urban environment with style and tenacity”. It’s also said to be “playful but gutsy, sturdy yet impish” – so could it be a small crossover?
