Mon, 21 Jun 2010Car Design News will be reporting live – via Twitter – from the Vehicle Design MA Degree Show 2010 at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London on the afternoon of Thursday, 24 June (after 13:00 GMT). The CDN team will be attending the show and interviewing the RCA's student designers, researchers, tutors, alumni, automotive experts and other professionals in attendance from the design community. We'll be posting all our news, photos, video clips and interviews to CDN's Twitter site so CDN's audience can get a real insight into innovative, future transport solutions from some of the world's most talented vehicle design students. Thu, 08 Nov 2007Kia has released photos of the Borrego, a full-size SUV for the North American market. The production model, which was originally previewed as the Mesa Concept at the 2005 Detroit Auto show, would have taken exactly three years to be transformed from a show car to a full production model when it makes its official debut at the NAIAS in 2008. Overall proportions and design details have been adjusted and toned-down noticeably from the Mesa concept, with details such as more realistically-sized alloy wheels, the body-To-DLO ratio, a no-frills interior and, perhaps most apparent, the more subtle greenhouse graphics.
Lincoln shows restored 1934 Edsel Ford Speedster at Pebble Beach
Sat, 20 Aug 2011Lincoln unveiled Edsel Ford's restored 1934 Model 40 Special Speedster on Friday during a ceremony on the lawn at Pebble Beach. The one-off car, lost for more than 40 years, was acquired by the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in 2009 and treated to a complete restoration. According to the company, Edsel Ford originally commissioned the Speedster after visiting Europe and growing enamored of the small sports cars on the continent.
