This 520 kit is designed to replace your stock  525 or 530 pitch chain and sprockets.  This is a bolt-on swap.

A 'Kit' includes a front sprocket, rear sprocket, and an x-ring chain.  We use the premium quality EK "MVXZ" Quadra-X-ring chain for these kits.  This chain will come with a  Rivet -type masterlink and installation instructions.   And unless you ask otherwise, the chain will be cut to length for the application and gearing you choose.  The EK comes with a 1 Year Limited Warranty - Regardless of Mileage.

These are the strongest and best looking chains in their class.  They also have a superior x-ring design that provides a very low coefficient of friction and long life.  Tensile on the SRX is 8,500 ft./lbs with a wear index of 1000.   If you'd like more information about the x-ring type chain, vs. an o-ring, just shoot us an email.

The chain finish is GOLD (or get Steel silver upon request for the same price)

However, the winner of the auction has the option to upgrade to a Chrome (silver-oxide), or any of the available MVXZ COLORS (Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, true Black, or the hot New Pink) for $20 more.

The sprockets are by Thrust Company.

All of the fronts for these kits are made of case hardened steel for optimum durability.  They are machined  vs. cast because of the higher resulting accuracy of the tooth cut and concentricity.  They are also coated for corrosion resistance and drilled for weight savings and added performance.

The rears are machined by an expert sprocket machinists who have been making sprockets for the largest sprocket companies, OEM's, and government agencies for 30+ years.  These are made of the highest quality 7075 aerospace grade aluminum and are heat treated to a T6 hardness- the best you can put on your bike.  They are machined to exact specs with tolerances much more stringent than other sprocket manufacturers and many times tighter than OE sprockets.  What this means is your chain fits the sprocket better and everything lasts longer.

All of our standard size kits come with Hard Anodized rears that are also machined Extra-Lite.  These features, is even offered by others, will usually cost you extra money and or time to order this way.  But I believe in providing the best sprocket product the first time around without added or hidden costs to get it.

And, as far as the gearing- you can choose what you'd like.  Your options are Stock, Mild, Stage I , or Stage II within this auction

Stock is pretty self-explanatory.
Mild -  This is about where you'll start to notice a difference in performance.  And is a good place to start if you're looking for a little extra acceleration without sacrificing much higher rpm's on the highway.
Stage I - Ideal for most sport riding enthusiasts- This is generally meant for someone wanting a lot more acceleration and for easier wheelies etc.  This combo will generally let you pull wheelies in one gear higher than you can with stock gearing.  This is also a good starting combination for roadracing and track days.   With this setup the goal is to get the maximum performance out of a bike without sacrificing any top speed.  This is generally how I think most bikes should come from the factory for optimum performance.  It is a change of about 10% - performance and rpm.
Stage II - This is a great setup for effortless wheelies or someone wanting to learn more technical stunt riding and also for drag racing.  Depending on the bike and rider weight, you may see a 5-10% decrease in terminal speed with this kit due to the rise in rpm's.  But you will get to your terminal speed MUCH faster.  You can expect 1-2 second faster ET's once you practice getting the power down efficiently.

Regardless of the ratio you pick you're not going to get short changed with only getting a smaller front sprocket or a chain that isn't rated properly for your application, or a chain that isn't cut to the proper length for the sprockets, etc.  You can be assured your getting the correct parts for how you ride your bike by someone who does this for a living.  Over half of our business comes from referrals.  And if we didn't know what we're doing on the street, track, and stunt competitions, we wouldn't have the reputation we do.

If your looking for a 'Street Stunt' or 'Pro Stunt' setup check our other auctions or call us to see if we have one for your bike.

Daytona practice

I've come up with my ratios I use by working with professional stunt riders for the past 10 years, and from my own national road racing experience for the last 20 years.  And the reason you won't see too many specifics about tooth sizes any longer is because there are several people trying to copy and imitate what I've been doing.  And when you do purchase something from me and need help after the sale- your going to get it.  This experience along with superior, application specific products is what your paying for here.

****************

If you've heard of 'conversion kits' or 'acceleration kits' before- it is for good reason. Most street bikes were, and still are, originally equipped with 530 size chain and sprockets from the factory. This is mainly because it has been the norm for many years and it is cheaper and easier for them to do everything in one size. Recent exceptions are certain newer mid-sized (600-750cc) sport bikes which now come with a new 525 size. And the new Kawasaki race replicas now come with 520 from the factory because of the obvious benefits!

NOTE-  This is a kit that is definitely for the performance oriented rider.  The 520 parts performance comes from the decrease in the weight of the parts.  This is partly because the 520 parts are thinner.  And, because of the parts we use the strength is very comparable to 525 and 530 parts (in fact the chain sideplates we use are the same thickness as 530 chains)-  However, because the face of the wearing parts isn't as wide the longevity is less than 525 and 530 pitch chain and sprockets.  Typical reported mileage on our parts on 1000cc machines is about 12,000 miles.  Whereas a 530 would be closer to 20k.  So, decide if the performance gain and slightly lower price of a 520 conversion in exchange for longevity is for you - if not we can provide the same quality parts in 525 or 530 for you through another auction(s)

This auction is the real deal. We only use the very best quality performance parts- No haphazard thrown together, old, outdated, second hand stuff here. This auction is for those who want to the best and expect the best out of their machine.  Don't let someone selling other general bike parts lead you to believe they know what they're talking about.

The lighter sprockets and chain will give you less unsprung weight(rotating mass) which will improve the braking and handling of the bike as well as increase your hp output at the rear wheel and your acceleration. When combined with a shorter gear ratio combo it will give you a lot more pulling power for a quicker launch and easier wheelies, if desired. And the most useful benefit that everyone will appreciate is faster roll-ons in every gear, at every speed.

Converting to a 520 kit the average bike will see a 5% increase in horsepower.  So, 6-8 hp is very typical on a 750.  Not a bad hp per dollar ratio there.  Especially since you have to eventually replace these parts anyway.

****************

Upon request at checkout I can also provide some handy tips and tricks for swapping the sprockets yourself.

****************

So, if your friends are beating you off the line, or making wheelies look easy you now have a secret weapon.  It is also a much less expensive way to replace AND upgrade worn out OEM parts.

****************

For all riders, regardless of whether your interested in this auction-  To avoid an accident and/or damage to your motor, or worse, you should regularly maintain and inspect your drive components.  Its often an overlooked and neglected part of a bike.    To check the condition of your chain, first adjust the tension properly.  With the bike held straight up and down you should have about 3 times the height of the chain top to bottom, measured below the swingarm.  (This is particularly important if you are doing wheelies or carry a passenger because if you don't have enough slack in your chain it will be seriously stretched when your suspension fully compresses.  And NO chain is designed to withstand this stress.)  Also check the wear by pulling on the chain on the very backside of the sprocket.  If you can pull the chain away from the sprocket more than 1/16"(2mm) then you should consider replacing everything.   Also, raise your rear wheel off the ground, spin the wheel and listen for excessive noise, check for kinks, and check for loose or tight spots in the tension at multiple places around the chain.  Also inspect your sprocket(s) for excessive wear or damaged teeth.  If you find ANY of the above - REPLACE the chain.  If you don't replace it soon- you can expect to have more serious issues to deal with in the near future.

If you have any unanswered questions regarding the use or reasons behind switching to the 520 setup, please email me. I don't mind any question you might think dumb, and I return every email as promptly as I can.  Or you can also call our TECH LINE 814-489-3379. (If I don't get back to you the same day you email me on a weekend day, I am probably at the track. Simply put - NO ONE beats our product and the service on the products we offer.  Be aware of copy-cats trying to offer similar products with someone else's name.  If it sounds like a sales pitch, a rewrite of someone else's information, and general BS- then it probably is.

And I won't let anyone beat our prices either.  We are the originators of the Wheelie and Stunt Sprocket kits.  We are the manufacturer of these kits and can therefore offer you the best prices and most direct shipping.  If you see a better price, let me know about it and we'll adjust our price.  No one beats us - Period!

Diesel joins Porsche Panamera lineup

Mon, 02 May 2011

Porsche has put forward some eye-catching fuel-economy figures for the Panamera diesel--although we may never see the car in the United States. Set to go on sale across Europe in August, the four-door is claimed to return a combined city/highway driving fuel economy of 36.2 mpg in standard guise under European testing procedures. When fitted with optional low-rolling-resistance tires, the fuel economy climbs to 37.3 mpg on the European test--a figure that gives the Panamera diesel a theoretical range of 800 miles on its 21-gallon fuel tank.

Mercedes-Benz revives its classic Gullwing two-seater as the SLS

Mon, 02 Mar 2009

Mercedes-Benz's gorgeous 300SL--or Gullwing, as it is affectionately now known--has been reborn five decades after the iconic two-seater first sent the motoring world into a spin at the New York auto show in 1954. We were the first to report Mercedes' secret plans to resurrect the Gullwing following Dieter Zetsche's decision not to forge ahead with a second supercar in collaboration with its Formula One partner, McLaren. Now we can confirm the name--SLS--along with details of its state-of-the-art construction, unique driveline, performance and much more.

Renault Twin'Run concept

Wed, 29 May 2013

The Renault Twin'Run concept, unveiled during the weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, is the sibling of the Twin'Z collaboration with Ross Lovegrove. Together they fulfill the ‘Play' stage of Renault's ongoing concept car lifecycle. While its overall form is very similar to the Twin'Z's (apologies for awkward punctuation on Renault's behalf), previewing the next-generation, rear-engined Twingo, the ‘Run is altogether racier than the more pragmatic – if no less flamboyant – ‘Z.
