Cadillac ATS to get turbo power

Cadillac has given us a sneak peek at the engine lineup that will power the 2013 ATS sedan set to bow in January at the Detroit auto show. The spotlight powerplant is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 270 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It uses a twin-scroll setup for a broad torque range.

Nissan pulls the plug on the Altima hybrid

It's last call for the Nissan Altima hybrid sedan. The 2011 model year will be the last for the gasoline-electric version of the Altima, ending a four-year run. While the Altima is one of Nissan's core models in the U.S.

SoCal Speed shop wins AMBR award as hod-rodding returns to its roots

In a competition that "took hot-rodding back to its SoCal roots," the SoCal Speed Shop--the entity founded by original hot-rod hero Alex Xydias and now helmed by Pete Chapouris--finally won the AMBR. That's AMBR, as in, America's Most Beautiful Roadster, the most sought-after title in all of hot-rodding and the crowning glory of the Grand National Roadster Show. There is that competition at the Detroit Autorama that hands out the Ridler Award, but that is open to all manner of kustom kars.
