This motor is from the original Italian manufacturer (OEM)* and supplier (OES)* Magneti Marelli, where the F1 pump is produced for Ferrari.

The price of this electric motor is at least 2-times lower than the price of the new F1 hydraulic pump from various online distributors of Ferrari parts.

This electric motor in the F1 pump can be are easily replaced even without disconnecting the hydraulic lines by unscrewing 2 screws by which the pump head is attached to the electric motor.

If you have an old model 360 F1 (1999-2003), it is advisable to upgrade your old motor to this new one, before the old motor will fail (which is very typical).

Those of you who have experienced the F1 hydraulic pump failure and have their old pumps laying on the shelf collecting dust, now you can repair the old pump very easily.

This electric motor should be replaced as a preventive measure in every car older than 5 years and after 10-15K miles.

Also, it is a good idea to have a new electric motor as a backup, in case the old one fails.

The pump head is made of aluminum and is virtually indestructible; there is no need to replace the pump head.

NOTE: The hydraulic pump head is not included !!!

In this video, I demonstrate how to change the electric motor in a F1 hydraulic pump used in Ferrari 360.

All you need to do - is to replace the electric motor, which will take you 15-20 min max!

It takes only 2 screws to change the electric motor:
   1) unscrew the two fastening screws on the pump head
   2) separate the pump head from the electric motor
   3) transfer the torque connector with lubricating grease to the new electric motor and align the shaft in the pump head
   4) attach the pump head and tighten it with the same two screws.

That's all, you are done !

* OEM (original equipment manufactured) and OES (original equipment supplier) many times are one and the same. OES, of course, is a more generic term that refers to the brand that came as original equipment on the car. Most auto manufacturers assemble cars from purchased components and manufacture only the sheet metal components. Therefore, the "factory part" you can buy from your dealer was most likely made by another company, sold to the car maker and then resold to the dealer for ultimate sale to you. An important point many people are unaware of is the fact that multiple OES brands are not only normal but are actually mandated by international standards as part of the qualifications for ISO certification. Car manufacturers must have secondary sourcing (i.e., multiple suppliers) for certain types of parts in order that any problems with one supplier will not disable the car manufacturer's production and allow for substitution of the other brand for new production and any warranty replacement or repairs.
