BMW signs diesel-engine supply deal with maker of police cars

BMW has agreed to supply turbocharged diesel engines to Carbon Motors Corp. to power Carbon's purpose-built police cars. In a deal signed on Monday, Carbon ordered more than 240,000 units of BMW's 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbodiesel--the same engine used in the X5.

Semifinalists will undergo further evaluation by our editors, who will judge the vehicles based on drivetrain, ride quality, handling, exterior, interior design and fun factor. Ford Fiesta ST - expected at Frankfurt There was a time when it seemed likely Ford would abandon all plans for a hot Fiesta. They seemed convinced that a Fiesta ST would be anathema in our seemingly eco-obsessed times, but fortunately they’ve had a change of heart. We reported back in September 2010 – after we had spy shots of what appeared to be the new Fiesta ST – that Ford were planning to cash-in on their WRC Fiest profile to finally bring us a Fiesta with a bit more get-up-and-go than the Zetec S could manage.
