Vauxhall Insignia facelift stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Ten years on from the very first Insignia concept, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2003, Vauxhall is showcasing a new, facelifted Insignia here at Frankfurt 2013. Part of the update to the Insignia is a new internet connectivity feature, which should make life on the road for travelling professionals a bit easier – now you can locate your nearest non-VAT qualifying hot food snack retailer in next to no time… We’re also fans of the rationalised trim range, down from 14 grades to eight for the new car. While the Insignia’s updated engine range boasts impressive efficiency (as we’ll see in a minute), we can’t help wondering if this might have been a good time to introduce a hybrid or range-extender powertrain, trumping Ford and its forthcoming Mondeo Hybrid in the process.
Video: Corvette ZR1's record Nurburgring lap
Wed, 16 Jul 2008By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 16 July 2008 09:00 With a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 pumping out 620bhp and 607lb ft and only needing to push 1519kg, the Corvette ZR1 was never being to be slow. But few people outside of General Motors could have expected the ZR1 to lap the Nurburgring faster than a Nissan GT-R. Well, the ZR1 has just blitzed the GT-R’s time by nearly four seconds, clocking a 7:26.4 lap time.
2015 Cadillac Escalade – it’s still big, bold & brash
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The 2015 Cadillac Escalade arrives – it’s still big, bold & brash The Cadillac Escalade SUV is not a car you see much in the UK, but it is loved by footballers, Rappers and those who deal in less than legal substances. It’s really too big, too brash and too flashy to ever have a hope of making real sales in the UK or Europe, but in America it’s the default luxury SUV of choice for even the most staid of buyers. So they won’t be disappointed that the 2015 Cadillac Escalade (which we would think of as a 2014 Escalade, as production starts next spring) is still huge and brash, even if it does seem to have gone up a notch or two in quality.
