Higher speed limits result in fewer crashes

Raising the speed limit can make roads safer, according to a study carried out in Denmark. The Danish Road Directorate monitored how driver behaviour and accident rates changed when speed limits on country roads and motorways were increased. Luc Donckerwolke, the Belgian who has held official positions at Audi, Bentley, Skoda, VW and Lamborghini, and worked in the background shaping the rest of VW Group's brands, is now getting down to business at Crewe. 'They told me: "You have to go to Bentley, move the brand forward and create a new design studio",' Donckerwolke told CAR in his first conversation since starting there five months ago.

Last month we reported that one of just four Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato Sanction II Coupés was up for grabs at Bonhams Aston Martin Sale at Newport Pagnell and expected to make £1.2 million. It made almost exactly that – £1.23 million, a new record in auction for a Sanction II car and a record sale at Newport Pagnell.
