Volvo XC90 interior puts concept car trilogy into practice

The Volvo concepts Coupe, XC Coupe and Estate have whetted the appetites of those keen to see new senior VP design president, Thomas Ingenlath's, renaissance of the brand since the former was shown in Frankfurt last September. The first product of these advanced design is the much-needed, all-new XC90 and Volvo has decided to lead its gradual unveiling with its interior. Honda are bringing the Honda CR-Z Hybrid to market next year, based on the CR-Z Concept from 2007 Honda’s first production Hybrid – the Honda Insight, recently called the worst car in the world – has not been a resounding success. True, it looks better than the Toyota Prius but – and we haven’t driven one yet so we can’t comment from our own experience – it’s not a great car. It has also been eclipsed – after a promising start – by the Toyota Prius, which has doubled its sales in Japan.

$5 billion competition on to replace Humvee

Competition is heating up to win a contract for a vehicle that will replace nearly 18,500 aging military Humvees for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps starting in 2015. Six proposals are in play, with little time left before federal contracting officials decide on development of the $5 billion-plus program.
