Toyota Recall Update: Half of UK cars now fixed

Toyota has fixed half of the 180k cars recalled over the sticky throttle problems It seems like forever ago that we revealed the enormous problems Toyota had with a mass worldwide recall on a  chunk of the cars they’ve produced in the last few years, but it’s actually only a little over a month – even less since we reported on the Prius recall. But having reported the negatives about Toyota – deservedly so – it’s only fair to report the positives. Aston Martin sells 38% stake to Italians to raise cash

Aston Martin today announced a deal with Italian private equity fund Investindustrial, securing a £150m investment to own a 37.5% stake in the business. Aston Martin hopes this should secure the long-term future of the beloved but hitherto financially wobbly sports car maker. Together with the new owners, it announced a £500m investment in future product.

Brumos Porsche to honor Hurley Haywood with special-edition Carrera GTS

Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Fla., parent of Brumos Racing, confirmed the production and imminent delivery of five factory-built 911 Carrera GTS B59 Edition coupes that pay homage to driver Hurley Haywood--five-time winner of the Daytona 24-hour race. The exclusive Porsches will carry a sticker price of $133,540. The 408-hp coupes, based on the GTS, will have the Brumos red-and-blue stripe design for the front hood and rear deck, Porsche door decals, 19-inch sport classic wheels, limitation badges and Carrera White accents and door-entry guards with HHaywood's engraved signature.
