SENSOR GUIDE is a software program that covers the basic operation and diagnosis of sensors in late model OBD vehicles.  It is a Quick Reference Guide to how each basic type of sensor works, how to inspect and test sensors, and what kind of driveability symptoms can be caused by bad sensors.  The types of sensors covered include:

* Oxygen sensors (conventional zirconia, titania and wide-range air/fuel sensors)
* Coolant sensors
* MAP sensors
* BARO sensors
* Throttle Position Sensors (TPS)
* Mass Airflow sensors (MAF)
* Vane Airflow sensors (VAF)
* Karmen Vortex Airflow sensors
* Knock sensors
* Air Temperature sensors
* EGR valve position sensors
* Crankshaft position sensors
* Camshaft position sensors
* Vehicle Speed Sensors (VSS)
* Wheel Speed Sensors (WSS) on ABS systems
* Steering angle sensors
* G-Force sensors
* Airbag crash sensors
* Sensor Diagnostics (tips on how to troubleshoot sensor problems and how to read sensor data PIDS with a scan tool)

This program was last updated January 2011

SENSOR GUIDE also includes sections to help you understand:
* Computerized Engine Controls -- how the PCM uses sensor inputs
* Distributorless (DIS) ignition systems and Coil-Over-Plug (COP) ignition systems
* Use of a digital oscilloscope (DSO) to read waveforms
* Basics of electronic fuel injection, including electronic throttle control
* Basic electrical circuits
* Basic electronic theory
* Basics of OBD II (including easy lookup chart for engine-related OBD II codes)
* Diagnostic tips for troubleshooting sensor-related faults

Software runs direct from the CD or can be installed on your hard drive.  Uses simple point and click menu to open topics.
Requires no special computer skills or other software to use.

NOTE: SENSOR GUIDE does NOT contain service manual type repair information for specific vehicles by year/make or model.  It covers basic sensor operation and diagnostics that are common to ALL vehicles.

This is a "must have" program for any do-it-yourselfer who wants to learn more about computerized engine controls and sensor diagnosis.

SENSOR GUIDE comes on a CD and will run on ANY Windows PC with Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) or 8 (but NOT Win8 RT for tablets).

Will NOT run on Apple/MAC.

Requires CD or DVD drive to read disk.

Also available as a download or on a USB flash drive on special request.

International Buyers:
For buyers anywhere outside the U.S., I will send you the software by email as a zip file download rather than mailing you the software on a CD.
International mail can be very slow, and CDs are often damaged, lost or stolen in transit.
Many countries also impose duty taxes on products purchased from outside their own country.

NOTE: This software is also included on the EVERYTHING CD we sell (see our other ebay listings), so do NOT bid on this item if you are also bidding on the Everything CD.

Mazda 3, Mazda 6 get customized for the SEMA Show

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We like the look of Mazda's current lineup, from the basic 2 to the sleek 6. Kodo design language has a lot to do with it -- Mazda North American Operations design director Derek Jenkins says that, thanks that Kodo styling, "the Zoom-Zoom genetic code is further being embraced, not buried, through increasingly expressive vehicle design." (Ugh.-ED) We didn't know genetics had anything to do with it, but hey -- tough to argue with the results. Perhaps Kodo's effectiveness is why Mazda's SEMA show concepts are fairly...restrained compared to what other automakers are bringing to Las Vegas.

BMW introduces anniversary edition 760Li

Mon, 10 Sep 2012

Twenty-five years ago, BMW delivered the first V12 7-series sedan. It used 5.0 liters of displacement to make a whopping 296 hp, which was powerful for its time. Now the marque from Bavaria introduced the 25th anniversary edition of that V12 sedan with more displacement and much more power.

2011 Mercedes SLK finally gets an official reveal. Sort of. To be honest, we’d expected Mercedes to be forthcoming on the new Mercedes SLK a little before now.
