Electric Starter 586281- Evinrude/Johnson - 1986 to 1993 - 60/65/70/75hp
Bosch Electric Starter - OMC #586281
This is a Bosch electric starter.... I'm told that this starter was rebuilt to be comparable with new!

Frankly, I'm not sure it was rebuilt to those standards, hence the very low starting price.

A neighbor installed it on his engine and said that it cranked too slow. Whether he had a low battery, flawed electrical cables, or the starter actually is flawed is unknown... but at this price, I'm sure you'll agree it's a bargain even if used for parts.

This is the "High Torque" Bosch model as supplied with the original engine.

In my records, the original and superseded part numbers up to the latest number is as follows. If your starter is listed as any of the following numbers, this starter will fit your engine.... 386657 <-Original # - 383691 - 391735 - 585050 - 585058 - 586281 <-Latest #.

It is known to fit the 3 cylinder engines from 1986 to 1993 in the 60/65/75hp range. When in doubt, email me with your engine model number, year, and hp, and I'll look it up for you.

Note that this Bosch starter does not come equipped with the bendix drive assy which is usually changed over from the old replaced starter to the new one. However, if a new bendix drive is needed, that would be the OMC or Bombardier drive part number of 384781.

Be aware that the starter bendix drive from a "Prestolite" starter will not interchange with this Bosch starter.

Shipping weight is approximately 10 pounds and will be shipped Flat Rate Priority Mail from zip 33594.... ($14.35 anywhere in the states)

The last price I saw of this starter in OMC's listing (586281) was in 2004 and at that time listed for $221.45

Roger Moore’s Aston Martin DBS from The Persuaders up for sale at Bonhams (+video)

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

Lord Brett Sinclair’s Aston Martin DBS V8 from The Persuaders For those of a certain age, the 1970s TV show The Persuaders evokes fond memories of Roger Moore as Brett Sinclair and Tony Curtis as Danny Wilde fighting crime on the French Riviera and driving an Aston Martin DBS and Ferrari Dino respectively. Now, more than 40 years since The Persuaders was aired, the Aston Martin DBS used by Brett Sinclair is to be offered for sale publicly for the first time at Bonhams Aston Martin works sale in May. With The Persuaders the most glamorous and expensive of Lew Grade’s TV adventures, the Aston Martin DBS was the perfect fit for Lord Brett Sinclair’s character (although the Tony Curtis/Danny Wilde Dino wasn’t exactly top-drawer Ferrari) and Aston Martin worked with ITC to make everything work for the show.
