Tesla increases Roadster production
Thu, 11 Sep 2008By Nick Eaton Motor Industry 11 September 2008 11:30 Tesla Motors is about to ramp up production of its Roadster, having secured supply of a new single-speed gearbox from BorgWarner. Tesla began producing the Roadster in March 2008, but all 27 cars so far delivered to customers have effectively been interim models because the original two-speed ‘box was deemed too fragile for long-term use. Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is official – just 20 to be built
Sat, 17 Sep 2011Lamborghini Sesto Elemento - it's official Perhaps the worst-kept secret at Lamborghini has been production confirmation of the Sesto Elemento, the ultra lightweight supercar Lamborghini revealed at the Paris Motor Show this time last year. As long ago as November last year we had the news that the Sesto Elemento would go in to production after a French car news site reported that Lamborghini would be building a very limited run of the cars at €2.5 million each. By May of this year we knew that Lamborghini had already started getting the Sesto Elemento ready for the first customers, and we reported that the first cars would be heading for customers by October this year at a more reasonable €1.9 million – although that’s October in Italian terms, so anything up to next Spring is possible.
Aston Martin CC100 Speedster concept
Mon, 20 May 2013The Aston Martin CC100 Speedster concept has been built to celebrate the centenary of the British brand at the Nürburgring 24 Hour race. Apparently inspired by the beautiful 1959 DBR1 racecar, the CC100 apparently also gives some clues as to Aston's upcoming design language, particularly around the grille, with its prominent insert and the treatment of the side strake, which here becomes a more integral part of the wheel arch and fender. The car was designed in Aston Martin's studio in Gaydon, with its bodywork the responsibility of chief exterior designer Miles Nurnburger.
