BMW X4 Sketch There’s been talk about producing a little brother for the BMW X6 since… well, since the BMW X6 turned from a ‘They’ll never build that’ to ‘The’y'll never sell that ‘ to ‘Blimey, that’s selling well’. And with the world seemingly obsessed by frugality, smaller versions of successful models are inevitable. We last brought news on the BMW X4 in April when our sources were telling us that BMW were close to signing off production of the X4.

60mph M1 motorway speed limit proposed

The government has announced a proposal to lower the motorway speed limit from 70mph to 60mph over a 32-mile stretch of the M1. The plan, which has just been put out to consultation, would lower the speed limit to 60mph between junction 28, near Matlock in Derbyshire, to junction 35a, north of Rotherham – in a bid to improve air quality by reducing vehicle emissions. The BMW EfficientDynamics is set for production in 2013 Probably the biggest show stopper at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show was the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept, which offered a diesel hybrid setup withn two electric motors, M3 levels of performance and low emissions with 75mpg. In essence, a BMW M1 for the Eco generation. Since BMW revealed their Vision ED other premium car makers have joined the eco-supercar game and announced production of what amount to high-performance hybrids and/or electric cars. Mercedes has confirmed they are working on an SLS AMG E-Cell, with a working prototype already running around.
