Ford Fiesta Zetec S Red and Black Editions (2014) unveiled
Wed, 18 Jun 2014By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 18 June 2014 10:07 Ford has a bold claim for its newly invigorated Fiesta Zetec S Red and Black Editions: they have a greater specific power output than a Bugatti Veyron! The downsizing trend continues apace and the new warm-hatch Fiestas are first to get a higher-output version of the 1.0-litre three-cylinder Ecoboost engine, tweaked to 138bhp thanks to variable cam timing, higher turbo boost and direct injection. Ford claims the new Fiesta specials are the most powerful 1.0-litre cars in the world.
Citroën DS Numéro 9 set to woo new Chinese bourgeoisie [w/video]
Fri, 13 Apr 2012The Citroën DS Numéro 9, which will make its debut at the Beijing auto show, marks a return of luxury French motoring – a segment the nation has shied away from in recent years. However while the desire for Gallic limos has all but died in their traditional heartlands, the demand for European luxe amongst the growing Chinese bourgeoisie – be it fashion, wine or cars – offers a new lifeline to the French curios we all love other people to own.
Gronholm makes explosive debut at Pikes Peak
Fri, 24 Jul 2009By Alex Michaelides Motor Shows 24 July 2009 11:55 Finnish rally ace Marcus Gronholm averted disaster to make a promising debut at the 2009 Pikes Peak international hillclimb. The world rally champion’s attempt was severely hampered when the rear tyre of his Ford Fiesta exploded, forcing him to limp home to a still-respectable fifth position in a time of 11min 28.963sec. Japanese rally star Nobuhiro ‘Monster’ Tajima claimed first prize in his Suzuki SX4 with a time of 10min 15.368sec.
