Denza EV Concept The partnership between Daimler and BYD in China has revealed its first fruit – the Denza EV Concept - at the Beijing Motor Show. It’s just a few weeks since we learned that Daimler and BYD had come up with a name for their joint venture in China to produce New Energy Vehicles (basically EVs). Denza – or Tengshi, in Chinese – seeks to take Daimler’s expertise in car making (and they do claim more than any other car maker on the planet) and mate it with BYD’s undoubted expertise in electric cars to build a car company that only produces new energy vehicles.

2015 Nissan Versa to debut at New York auto show

Nissan revealed the first images of the 2015 Versa sedan on April 11. The car goes on sale next week after its debut at the New York auto show for the seriously low price of $12,800 including destination. Improvements include new front and rear fascias, interior upgrades and new packaging content.

Umea Olme Spyder project

While Swedish automaker Saab was going through tumultuous times and Geely was in the process of buying Volvo from Ford, first year MA students in Transportation Design at Sweden's Umea Institute of Design were busy creating a one-off roadster for an independent car maker: the Olme Spyder. Created in collaboration with Ove Bengtsson, an engineer with a personal passion for building his own vehicles, the students were asked to design their own interpretation of a progressive and innovative roadster, developing the concept from a sketch into a full-scale model. Based on an Opel Agila donor car, the concept's 650kg steel monocoque chassis was created by Bengtsson himself to accommodate a mid-mounted engine.
